Temporary Encounters are a framework for the 2014 program of Apoteka – space for contemporary art. It is structured as a series of three solo exhibitions by Vlatka Horvat, Igor Eškinja and Damir Očko.
Temporary Encounters are exploring spatial relations and interactions between objects and subjects, dismantling procedures, processes and relationships within the work of art and the gallery space. The exhibition brings together artistic positions that deal with issues of (re)presentation and exhibiting by the works of three artists that are re-working through tensions between the space, the observer and the observed . The works in the exhibition come across as a series of interrelated relationships, cracks and fractures intertwined in a temporary environment. They make visible the invisible, hidden and point to the constructed character and dismantlement, reminding us about the artificial, constructed nature of the exhibition / media / artwork, as means of transformation of discursive practices . Temporary Encounters end up as a (group) exhibition constituted in time, an exhibition not understood as fixed and compete constellation, but developing from chapter to chapter, during several months transforming and changing, dealing with models, formats, typologies of exhibiting.
