The exhibition Cinema by all means by Tomislav Gotovac at Apoteka – Space for Contemporary Art gathers works in a wide range of media such as works on paper, text, photography and film to explore Tomislav Gotovac film thinking by all means. Seen in the framework of cinema by other means as a possible perspective to look on Tomislav Gotovac body of work, the exhibition brings several works that engage with his experience of watching films, uncompromising interest to make films, negotiating conditions of film production, radical research of film language as conditions of cinema by all means.

Curated by Branka Benčić in collaboration with Tomislav Gotovac Institute.

The art practice of Tomislav Gotovac was marked by a wide media diversity: he was a filmmaker and a photographer, he made collages, objects and installations, he changed his own appearance, he staged actions and performances in public spaces and made provocative appearances in mass media. Sice min 1970s he exhibited numerous exhibitions in Croatia/Yugoslavia and internationally and abroad. His work presented Croatia at the 54th Venice Bienniale (2011), and was included in Documenta 14 in Athens and Kassel (2017).

The exhibition is organized in collaboration with Tomislav Gotovac institute and coincides with Cinemaniac Think Film 2019 at Pula Film Festival.
